A graduate of the École Polytechnique (Palaiseau), Thomas Vermeersch began his career in the French Air Force as a fighter pilot (Mirage 2000D) before joining the DGA as an experimental test pilot. Thomas is also a Safety Management Systems Expert, and as such he was in charge of air safety for the entire DGA Flight Test Department.

Thomas then went on to head up marketing and sales for a Toulouse-based SME in the defence sector. During this time, Thomas trained a large number of officers and non-commissioned officers in electronic warfare, mainly from Middle Eastern countries.

After 2 years as an independent consultant in strategy, marketing and finance for several European SMEs and start-ups, Thomas joined Seiya Consulting in 2022 as Managing Director. He is responsible for strategy consulting and technical expertise on hydrogen for institutional and private clients, as well as for developing the engineering business.

Thomas speaks at conferences on behalf of Seiya, particularly on the subjects of ports, aeronautics, defence and security.
